My bipolar story involves a veteran who has convinced Veterans Affairs her symptoms all relate to her combat or an alleged military sexual trauma incident. I am not discounting her injuries, but from my perspective her injuries are the result of moral turpitude (consequences of her behaviors or lack of insight). She collects a monthly VA check, regularly displays the symptoms of Bipolar or severe PTSD (irritability with unprovoked periods of violence) and outside VA is of above average physical and mental health.
